Evaluation of Some Sugar Beet Varieties under Water Salinity Stress in New Reclaimed Land

چکیده

In line with sustainable agriculture that depends on modern methods and new sources of non-traditional irrigation, a field experiment was conducted at privet farm behind Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road, Giza, Egypt during two seasons to evaluate five sugar beet varieties under water salinity stress condition. The present work included 15 treatments; represent varieties: viz. Multi-germs (Amina, Farida, Faten) Mono-germs (Unners Sharleston), in combinations treatments (Magic-Sal (13% humic acid + 20% carboxylic acid) Sal-Wax (50% components) compared control application. Results indicated help early stages increase the emergency percentage high stress. As treatment, significantly proline accumulation, leaf relative content (LRWC %),and root yield, but, it caused reduction quality parameters (sucrose, purity, extractable percentages) both seasons. On other hand, variety (Amina) overpassed respect germination ratio, content, LRWC%,and yield (ton/fed) While, Sharelston surpassed studied sucrose, (ES%) seasons. The distribution stomata density increased as level increased. also showed or Sal-Wax) had positive effects area, but its index well closure% decreased non-use.

Evaluation of some drought tolerance genes expressions and enzymatic changes in sugar beet monogerm cultivars under drought stress conditions

Sugar beet is a strategic and industrial crop and important in sugar production. Drought is a limited factor in sugar beet yield. Base on this, an experiment carried out using a split-plot format in the randomized complete block design with 4 replications in 1394-5 at Chenaran area (Bahman Jan village). The main plot included three drop irrigation regimes: 7, 14 and 21 days interval as normal, ...

The Effect of Salinity Stress on Full-sib Progeny of Sugar Beet in Field Condition

Considering the effect of salinity stress on the quantitative and qualitative traits of sugar beet genotypes, it seems necessary to study the response of genotypes obtained from breeding programs to salinity stress. For this purpose, 17 full-sib genotypes (derived from sibling crossing) with 7 different tolerant control under two salinity stress (electrical conductivity 17.36 dsm) and without s...

osmotic adjustment in sugar beet plant under salinity stress

this study was carried out in the general commission for scientific agricultural research (gcsar) at der ez zour agricultural research center, during 2009- 2010 growing seasons. the role of na+, k+, na+/k+, carbohydrates accumulation of leaves, and sugar content of roots on the osmotic adjustment was studied in 10 sugar beet genotypes (five were monogerms and five were multigerms), under salini...

Simulation of the Effect of Salinity and Water Stress on Sugar beet Using the System Dynamics Approach

Due to the growing population, crop production is one of the essential needs of the society. Since soil and water salinity can have a great impact on the crop yield loss; so, the appropriate irrigation method can be applied to reduce these effects. In this study, the system dynamics model was developed using VENSIM. The model simulated the effect of salinity and water stress on the crop yield, ...
